Technician’s Note: This is a “straight mender,” the most reliable way to fix a leak in a long trunk line without replacing the entire run. Because it is 304 stainless steel, it is 100% safe for contact with wine, cider, and high-acid soft drinks. For a professional, high-pressure seal, we recommend using 10.5mm Oetiker Stepless Clamps. If the tubing is cold or rigid, a 5-second dip in hot water will allow the 1/4″ barbs to slide in easily for a flush, sanitary fit.
